Note: if you are looking for this week's Hodgepodge questions, they are in a separate post here.
I feel like I need to tell you about my very first Zumba experience since I had quite a few comments about it yesterday. Many of you said you were thinking about giving it a try and a few of you had no clue what I was talking about. Zumba is an aerobic dance program done to a Latin beat. A loud Latin beat. And, if you've been on the fence about giving it a try perhaps my post today will convince you to be like Nike and just do it. Here we go-
1. 'Everyone leaves smiling'.
I'm pretty sure what they meant to say was everyone leaves sweating.
2. I lack rhythm.
3. Its true-nobody is paying any attention to you and your two left feet so no need to worry about how you look.
4. That's because everyone is concerned with shaking their own booty in the right direction.
5. There is much booty shaking.
6. I enjoyed that.
7. I had no unintentional solos.
8. Did I mention you sweat a lot?
9. The 20-somethings sweat too.
10. The class lasted one hour and fifteen minutes.
11. I thought the class was one hour.
12. Fifteen extra minutes is a lot of minutes people.
13. There were no breaks.
14. Not one.
15. Oh my word, the sweat.
16. My ears are ringing.
17. It was fun so I bought ten passes and am going back on Friday.
18. They took my picture for my id.
19. They took it after class.
20. My cheeks are red and my hair is sweaty...but I am smiling.
Where's the picture to go with this post?? I'm sure you could have scanned it for us.
ReplyDeleteKnew you would love it! Stay in the back so you can take a water break now and then and even if your lost on the move just shake what your momma gave you and all is good!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like that would wear me OUT!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, for sure, where is the picture? Love your vivid description and it really does sound like something I might enjoy but I hate leaving my house to exercise. That's why I've always just stuck with my trusty treadmill. Somewhat boring but it seems to give me what I need, so guess I'll just stick with it. Happy Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun. What? No picture? lol. OK. I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for sharing. Blessings, SusanD
ReplyDeleteGlad you lived through it! Can you move today? That's the $64K question.
ReplyDeleteOh, we totally need to see the picture!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! My boss at work does Zumba once or twice a week and she loves it too. She's been trying to talk me into it. It sounds like a lot of fun...and sweat. :)
ReplyDeleteShouldn't have told us about the picture! Readers have inquiring minds (sadistic?) :)
Yes, along with Beverly, can you move today?
I feel like getting up and doing something now. Thanks.
I agree...we totally need to see that photo! LOL
ReplyDeleteHaha! This made me laugh. I could somehow picture it! Sounds like great fun. I'm interested in your answer to Beverly @ The Buzz's question, also. heehee...
ReplyDeleteYAY! GO MOM! I have the best visual image of you shaking your booty with all your natural rhythm. I'm so glad you liked the class!
ReplyDeleteOh what fun. That is the newest thing, everyone is going to Zumba. Well almost everyone..lol. I am like the one above were you able to get out of bed this morning?
ReplyDeleteuntil next time... nel
You are so funny, Joyce, and so good at describing things! I could just picture all of the "Zumbaness" going on! :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd my votes with the others! We want a picture!!! :-)
I wondered what Zumba was all about. I'm with everybody else, though...what kind of blogger are you that you don't post the picture? :D
ReplyDeleteMe? I prefer my sweating chasing a little green ball around the court! :)
So glad you liked it. I hear so many wondeful things about it. It would have been nice if they took your picture before!
ReplyDeleteOh my! That definitely put a smile on my face. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWHAT, NO PIC?
ReplyDeleteI'm giggling near you. Very near you.
