Often turkey can be dry so the gravy is needed. I like my potatoes plain too although we often mix the corn into them on our plates. Kids started that when they were little and it tastes pretty awesome. Speaking of that my grandmother would put left over sauerkraut into mashed potatoes and it was delicious!
