I like the name cloud dancer. I crave peace and also clarity in regards to the best way to handle some difficult situations. I know trusting Jesus and taking these things to Him is what makes peace and clarity possible.
3. Every cloud has a silver lining, on cloud nine, head in the clouds, storm clouds gathering, or cloud of suspicion...which 'cloud' idiom do you most relate to currently? Explain.
Every cloud has a silver lining because I'm ever and always an optimist.
4. coconut, cauliflower, cottage cheese, mayonnaise, onions, ranch dressing...of the white foods listed, which would be the hardest for you to give up? Do you like all or any of the foods on the list?
I like all of the foods listed, but some would be harder than others to give up. Coconut is one of my favorite flavors, but not something I have every day or even every week. On the other hand onions are in so many of the dishes I make on a regular basis, and they add to the flavor of those dishes, so I guess onions would be the most missed. I feel the same way about mayonnaise.
5. Thomas Wentworth Higginson is credited with this quote-
"How many lessons of faith and beauty we should lose, if there were no winter in our year."
Agree or disagree? Tell us why.
I would say I agree in the sense that life and the changing seasons teach us lessons if we pay attention. While I believe beauty exists no matter the season, there is something uniquely valuable about winter. I love the slowing down it brings that's sometimes missing in other seasons.
I like the pause that comes with winter. The space it brings that encourages me to step back from the busyness of daily life. Time to reflect and time to rest. I think faith grows in times of rest, maybe more so than in times of productivity.

Speaking of clouds...I have a small obsession with the sky and clouds especially. Back in September I saw someone on Instagram share a sky collage and decided I wanted to do the same. Every morning in the month of October I snapped a picture of the sky while standing in the same spot in my backyard. Here's how it looked-
Have a nice week everyone!

That picture of the clouds reflected on the lake is just beautiful. I'm sure if I had a nice warm fur coat like little brown dog I might enjoy the snow more lol.
ReplyDeleteYour collage is beautiful! Loved reading how you do not get much snow at all- another reason why I think we will eventually land down south. Is that one of the biggest reasons you settled there? Whatever it was or whatever factors lead to it always show me the joy you are experiencing at home- beautiful place to be
ReplyDeleteI love your cloud collage! I have a similar obsession with a tree near my house....
ReplyDeleteI said the same thing about onions- I need me some onions for savory dishes, really almost all my meat dishes contain onion. I could live without any of the others though I have learned to like mayo. Your sky pictures are neat- God has given us a lot of beauty, definitely every season. Some seasons it´s more subtle. Thanks for the link up and have a great day!
ReplyDeleteOhh! I think I would be a fireplace hugger too if we had one. We have a fake fire but it is just for decoration. It looks like the pup really loved the snow.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the onions, we eat so many and they would be hard to give up.
I love the cloud photos!
Your sky collage is so cool! That would be great on a wall if you printed and enlarged it!
ReplyDeleteI loved your answers! I answered mine similarly. I love that cloud photo collage...what a great idea. I may try this soon. Thanks for hosting us, friend! I hope your week has been great so far!
ReplyDeleteHello, I found you via another blog and was inspired to join your lovely weekly get-together. I hope that is OK :o) I've added a link but sadly owing to past problems I made my blog private a while ago. Nevertheless, I never mind adding new readers. (No expectation - I am more than happy to just play along for the fun of it.)
ReplyDeleteAs for your answers, we matched on onions and agreement of the quote. And I really love your sky collage - both the idea and the way it turned out. I didn't know it was possible to make such large collages!
I enjoyed your collection of clouds... I too enjoy a good cloud filled day when I can just sit there and make all kinds of things out of a single cloud. I do love a big snowfall, which we rarely get.
ReplyDeleteSo many of your answers resonate with me and I enjoy the way you express those thoughts. What a cool collage and idea to log a month of photos of the sky. Your silver lining photo is beautiful. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThe pause of winter is so nice. Oh, I love the cloud collage! That is such a neat thing to do. I love the night sky, but that is hard to photograph. Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteYour cloud collage is so cool! What a fun idea. Also, the dog in the snow is so cute!
ReplyDeleteThe cloud collage is an excellent idea! (future linky, maybe?) Whatever struggles you're having, trust in God's will!
ReplyDeleteThank you Joyce, I enjoyed your answers, especially the silver lining.
ReplyDeleteI too would miss onions. And mayo was going to be my second.
I love the cloud collage.

ReplyDeleteSitting by the fireplace sounds good to me. Little brown dog looks so cute. Yes, I agree, onions are a great addition to meals. True beauty does exist in all seasons but it is nice to have changes. Your picture of the clouds is so awesome. Have a wonderful day.
Totally agree that changing seasons teach us a lot. Beautiful cloud collage.
ReplyDeleteOh I love that sky collage; what a fabulous idea! I definitely notice our clouds a lot especially this time of year when they are often so bright and colorful in the mornings.
ReplyDeleteThe sky collage is such a neat idea. The lake photo is just stunning. I like snow in small amounts - preferably gone within a day. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that you are always optimistic and see the best in most things. That is an inspiration to me, who sometimes tends to be rather negative. I justify that by claiming to be realistic instead. This world situation is getting rather heavy these days, but as you so aptly write, we trust in a sovereign God who is in control and knows all things. We enjoyed our short visit with Mary-Elizabeth in Atlanta on our trip north. She is doing well and loves nursing. Just between the two of us, she may be moving to S. C. in the future as her boyfriend's job may be taking him there at some point. I'll let you know.
ReplyDeleteHow clever of you to take pictures of the clouds like this!
ReplyDeleteGreat answers and wonderful photos
ReplyDeleteI have a "thing" for photographing the sky through the trees. I also have a friend who documented 52 weeks with pictures from their balcony on the same time of day, same day of the week, and in the same place. It is a very interesting exercise! Thank you for another fun Hodgepodge, Joyce!! Have a blessed week!!
ReplyDeleteI love the name Cloud Dancer, too! And your cloud collage is so cool. Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteLoved your answers and photos, Joyce. I wanted to write something similar concerning peace and clarity, but just wasn't coming up with the right wording. You did, so thank you. I loved your answers to question #5 too. Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful picture of the clouds. Ever an optimist...oh I wish I could say that, even if just a little bit more!:)
ReplyDeleteLoved your answers and the clouds, and your pups. I think I read the 4th question wrong...haha! I am a forever optimist as well. I say I'm a realistic optimist.
ReplyDeleteLoved reading your answers and seeing your photos, especially of your dog enjoying the snow! I really liked the answer to #4 - the pause and space of winter is so valuable, even though we try to bypass that so often with our modern technology. That cloud collage is a really neat idea that I'd like to try sometime! Sorry for the lateness of my visit - hope you're having a great week!
