That's The Hodgepodge Four You

Welcome to this week's edition of the Wednesday Hodgepodge. If you've answered today's questions add your link at the end of my post, then be a good neighbor and leave a comment for the blogger before you.

Also, I'm not going to have a Hodgepodge next week (August 4) as I will have a houseful and want to enjoy every minute with them in person. The Hodgepodge will resume the week after (August 11). Thanks for understanding.

From this Side of the Pond

1. Four words that tell us something about your July?

waiting, houseguests, boating, waiting

2. Four of your favorite summer foods?

Maryland blue crabs, watermelon, sliced tomatoes, a hamburger on the grill

3. What were you doing at a quarter past four yesterday?

Coming up with questions for this week's Hodgepodge.

4. fore!, four letter word, four sheets to the wind, ten-four, 24/7, four eyes, these four walls....pick a 'four' phrase and tell us how you relate currently

I'm going with four eyes since hubs and I both have eye appointments in early August. Which I will need to reschedule since we will have family here most of the month. I just got new glasses in the spring but it seems with every year that goes by the fine print gets finer and finer. I'm expecting yet another adjustment to my prescription.

5. Something you own that is four years old?

This house, although it will turn five in November. It's hard to believe but I'm currently redoing a couple of spaces which tells me time has indeed moved forward fast. The redo however is moving at a snail's pace.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Are you watching the Olympics? It's so so strange to see empty stands. I feel for the athletes but also for the city of Tokyo too. Such an amazing location and no tourists there to enjoy the sights, sounds, food, and especially the gracious people who live there.

Tokyo is one of my hubs favorite cities in the world. We were there right before you know what struck and I'm so grateful for the timing of that wonderful trip. Shoutout to my now lake neighbors who were living there at the time and made it absolutely 5*

  1. Soak up every minute next week with your guests and enjoy! I miss those Maryland blue crabs!! Definitely sad watching the Olympics without spectators; the thrill isn't there for me like in previous years.

  2. We have not watched a single Olympic event, and not because we are boycotting. Our TV programming is a whole other story. There is no question as to your excitement about having your family with you soon. It is going to be a wonderful reunion and time filled with so much loving, and I cannot wait to hear about it.

  3. I can hardly believe you've lived there almost 5 years. Time is just flying. Except I bet it's not right now as you are waiting...so exciting!!

  5. Oh, redos always move at a snails pace it seems. We've been here for 6 years Aug 14th and we've got to replace half of our shutters and are working on getting that done. We're using some kind of wood that "supposedly" will not rot for years and years. Guess we'll find out. So excited for you and your August. Lots of great times ahead. Blessings my friend!

  6. The Olympics have been weird. I, too, feel sorry for the athletes who spend so much time training and who are missing out on the excitement of a stadium full of people cheering. Waiting is hard but how wonderful when you will finally see those you are waiting for and give them a long awaited hug! Enjoy the break!

  7. Well you did a good job on the questions. Yes, definitely reschedule that eye appointment! Those 4 years have gone by quickly. Can't believe you are redoing some things. It took us years before we started to make changes. Actually about 10 years! I've been watching the woman's gymnastics.

  9. We tried watching some of Olympics but I'm not really a fan of these highlight shows/reels that we have access to. I much prefer the feeling of seeing it in real time even when I know I'm really not. Enjoy your company next week!!

  10. I've watched a little bit of the Olympics. It must be hard on the athletes and the parents not to be there in person. Gymnastics is my favorite.

ANd to answer your question on my Hodgepodge, we use vinegar in our cucumber tomato salad, I've not made that one with mayo.

  12. I am going to answer these questions while you are on your blogging break busily entertaining company. Hope you are having the best time. I try to put together my answers before reading yours but didn't this time. Love the 4 eyes answer. I need to make an eye appointment, too.
