Spring Fever In The Hodgepodge

Welcome to a springtime edition of The Wednesday Hodgepodge. If you've answered today's questions add your link at the end of my post, then leave a comment for the blogger before you. Here we go-

From this Side of the Pond
1. It's officially spring in the northern hemisphere. Does it feel like spring in your part of the world? If you're in the southern hemisphere it's officially autumn where you live. Does the weather say autumn? Which do you prefer-spring or autumn? Why?

It definitely feels like spring where I live. I will do my best not to go on and on (and on and on) about the pollen but it's here and it's a sure sign of spring. Temps are in the 70's for the most part, some days we've been up in the 80's, and things are blooming.

Autumn is my favorite season of the year, but I'm always happy to see spring springing too.

2. What's your favorite thing about spring?

Easter.

So much sweetness in a single photograph.

3. Spring into action, spring in your step, spring to life, spring to one's feet...which spring idiom currently applies to your life in some way? Explain.

All of the above. I'm hanging with these two little cuties this week and they definitely put a spring in my step. There's also a lot of springing into action and springing to your feet with the three and under set. They're quick!

4. Which spring food from this list is your favorite? What's a dish you like that includes your favorite spring ingredient?

asparagus, strawberries, salad greens like mesclun, artichokes, spinach, eggs, peas, spring onions

There isn't anything on this list I don't love so it's tough to pick a favorite. I'd probably say eggs because that's the one I'd miss the most if it were taken away. Deviled eggs are a favorite this time of year especially.

5. What's one task on your spring cleaning list? Do you actually have a list?

I don't have a written list, although I might make one just so I can have the satisfaction of crossing off completed chores. One task on the list? Baseboards, wipe down all the kitchen cabinets, and wash windows which we might farm out to a professional.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Several people have asked me how we played the Bingo game on my mother-in-law's birthday. My sister-in-law did all the work, but it looked like this-

Every square had some saying, event, or phrase relating to my m-i-l. When the square was called you marked it off just like you do with a regular bingo board (We used dot markers). Then everyone told a story or shared a memory relating to whatever the square said.

The cards were made using myfreebingocards.com. and my sister-in-law printed them out for us on paper.  Everyone's card was arranged differently but had some of the same topics, so there was a winner. We didn't have prizes, just lots of fun and laughs.

  3. It sounds like you're having a good time in TN with your daughter and grands. They look so sweet holding hands! Great throwback pic of your girls. I mentioned Easter, too, as well as a few other things about spring that I like :). I had a hard time deciding between fall and spring and I definitely love eggs- I forgot about deviled eggs. Yes, a favorite for sure especially this time of year. Thanks for the Q's, link up- enjoy the rest of your stay in TN and safe travels home.

  4. Thank you for sharing the BINGO details. I love that so much and by reading the card I got a taste of her legacy.
Enjoy your week - those little people are precious. Your girls look so classic and pretty for Easter. We used to dress that way, too.

  5. Oh yes, toddlers and preschoolers are so fast you have to be ready to spring into action at a moment's notice.

  6. I loved all your answers! I think it's wise of you to think about farming out the chore of washing windows since your home is on the lake and you have so many. I would want to do the same! How fun to be with the grand loves this week...I am sure you'll be tired by the end, but I know you'll enjoy every moment. Thanks for hosting us again!

  9. So sorry for the pollen. Glad the temperatures are nice. That photo is so cute, thanks for sharing it. So glad you are having time with those two little ones. What a sweet photo. Yes, I would miss eggs too. A list is a good idea. We just had our outside windows washed and our cabinets need a really good cleaning. I think the house is getting too big for us. Mark used to do a lot of these things. He wants to get a maid and I don't want to. That bingo game is so precious. Hope you have a wonderful day. Enjoy your family.

  12. No spring up here yet, although our maple sugaring season is finishing up. Still lots of snow, and mud will be next. Flowers are a long way off.

Love the photo of your little grands, and also the Easter photo of your girls. What pretty dresses!

  15. I enjoyed your pictures. I have fond memories of dressing up for Easter when growing up. I still try to dress up that day. I am enjoying a quiet cool morning, but it will be in the 90's the rest of the week which is not normal for us. I just finished my scrambled eggs, and I have two a day. Enjoy your week!

  18. You love autumn, I hate it ! I raised from my winter sleep and are so happy that it is spring now ! I admired the dresses of your (at that time) little girls, because they remind me of the clothes my American aunt used to send me. When I was the same age as your daughters in the picture, there was nothing for children to wear in Germany at the end of 1949 except hand-knitted sweaters or hand-sewn dresses! The sweaters were itchy!!
