Welcome to this week's Wednesday Hodgepodge. If you've answered today's questions add your link at the end of my post, then leave a comment for the blogger before you. Here we go-
1. Do your goals and dreams energize or exhaust you? Elaborate.2. July 23rd is national lemon day. Are you a fan of this flavor? What's a favorite dish or beverage you enjoy that calls for lemons?
I love lemon flavored anything. One of my favorites. I make a lemon pasta with shrimp, a lemon garlic shrimp, sweet iced tea with lots of lemon (gotta have the lemon here!!), lemon crepes, chicken piccata, lemon bars, and good old fashioned lemonade.
Oh and let's not forget icy cold limoncello made with lemons from our lemon tree-
3. "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade"...is this something you're pretty good at managing? Have you had to do this recently? If so tell us about it.
I think I'm pretty good at this. I mean we don't usually have a choice, right? I'm normally that person looking for the bright side in every instance, which I think fits here.
Now. I did have a situation not too many years ago, where I wish I'd been a bit better at making lemonade right off the bat, but will confess it took me a while to get there. Let's just say it was a learning experience and leave it at that.
4. Something you love that is lemon yellow in color?
The sun. Italian pottery. A bowl of lemons sitting on the kitchen counter. Daffodils. A NYC taxi.
5. How would you describe your attention to detail?
Excellent if we're talking the written word. Something less than that if we're talking house cleaning. Hubs is a 10 in this department so I don't have to be.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Who's watched I Will Find You on Netflix? We're more than halfway through and it's good. I love Harlan Coben's books and the television adaptation of this one is well done.

That bowl is so pretty! Your lemon tree looks lovely and I bet it smells amazing.
ReplyDeleteHaven't watched I will find you yet but I do love Harlan Coben books. I love how he gets you hooked really early on. I wish my Hubby was a 10 on house cleaning. He's near the other end of the scale but the good thing is he doesn't notice if I'm slacking either lol.
ReplyDeleteAll of the lemon things you mentioned sound delicious, especially the lemon pasta with shrimp! How cool that you have a lemon tree.
ReplyDeleteI have I Will Find You on my list of things to watch, I do like all the Harlan Coben dramas.
Tom and I are watching it! I can't for the life of me figure out why this all happened. We are on episode 3.
ReplyDeleteI love all of your lemon examples!
I love having a bowl of lemons on the island! I need to get some! Also, our neighbors recommended "I Will Find You" -- we haven't watched it yet, but need to do so!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like something good to watch when Donnie and I next need a series- probably this fall when A is back in school. I've never read any of his books but I've watched several series on Netflix that are based on his novels. Your yellowy things pictures are good and your lemon recipes sound good, too. Thanks for the questions and the link up!
ReplyDeleteHi Joyce,
ReplyDeleteYou have a lemon tree. That is so fun. And you have a lot of lemons on that tree. :-) Do you bring it in the house in the winter, or are your S.C. winters mild enough for it?
I love that you said the sun. I will second that.
Have a great day!
We do bring it just into the garage for the coldest months, usually December-Feb. My husband has a big grow light that puts enough heat on it to keep it going. We've had it three years now and it does great.
DeleteI always come here on Wednesdays and can't wait to see what you named the weekly Hodgepodge- I always a chuckle a bit- love it! Your lemon dishes all sound to die for- right up my alley
ReplyDeleteOh how cool to have a lemon tree! And what a beautiful plate! Loved your answer for #1.
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss that you have a lemon tree?! How amazing! I love lemon flavored things, but my favorite savory dish is chicken piccata. I love lemon bars, too...I just don't make them, so I rarely get one. Lemon pound cake is another favorite for me. I loved the prompts this week! Thanks for hosting us, friend!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your answer to #1 and agree that in these latter days of life, our goals and dreams become more turned toward those things that are eternal. Love all your yellow and especially that bowl. Dick and I have finished the "I Will Find You" series and really enjoyed it. I wish there were more like it out there. Enjoy the rest of your week.
ReplyDeleteLove the Italian pottery bowl; it's beautiful. I have watched I Will Find You, and it is so good.
ReplyDeleteYour lemon pictures are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteLinky entered my name twice, I didn't. LOL My brain this week is a little fried. Maybe from the heat and smoke. I thought I had to find yellow things that I owned that I love. I love the yellow things you listed! My attention to detail on that question wasn't too good. :) That is a beautiful platter/bowl. The eternal is on my heart and mind more and more. So wonderful to have a lemon tree!! Have a bright sunshiny day!
ReplyDeleteI love that bowl; I just have so few surfaces in my house to put decorative things like that.
