Weekend?

So I think we had a weekend.  Honestly it went by in such a blur, I'm not sure it can be called a weekend, but it's Monday and I'm headed to the dentist so yeah, the weekend has definitely come and gone.

Hubs arrived home from Arizona around 1:30 in the morning Friday night. Wait, that would make it Saturday morning.  I cannot say for certain because I was in a deep deep sleep on our very comfy couch.  I'd told hubs to text me when he was leaving the airport so I could unlock the garage door for him.  That way he wouldn't have to fumble with a key and luggage in the pitch black NJ countryside, because I'm helpful like that.  Except when I'm not.  I guess he did text me because-

Course I never heard a thing even though I'd purposely set my phone right beside my head and turned the ringer all the way up. Next thing I know the kitchen lights are on and hubs is talking.  Have I told you this getting up with the crows is kicking my behind? Also I feel the need to point out that I managed a screen shot here. It's possible I had to phone my daughter to ask her how to do that
again, but still it feels like a small win.

Saturday we awoke to an absolutely gorgeous day. Sunshine and temperatures close to 60 degrees. In November!

I know!

We sipped coffee and had breakfast, then decided to get out for a walk. It was far too pretty to stay indoors.

We took our pup to her happy place, a nearby nature preserve, and afterwards stopped in our local pub to split an order of nachos and soak up the sun in their outdoor seating. I'd show you a picture of my pup but it's on my good camera, and for some reason the camera is not connecting to our computer.

The technology war rages on.

We came home to
nap on the couchwatch football, and may I just say the Georgia-Auburn game is everything I love about SEC football. If you missed it, you missed a play that will likely be talked about for years to come. Uh-may-zing. When the game ended we went out to dinner because cooking is not permitted in a weekend that's really a day. My rules. Hubs agrees.

On Sunday hubs needed to go buy some new running shoes, re-pack his suitcase, and head back to the airport, so that's what we did. While he was shoe shopping I popped in to Target to pick up a few more little bits and pieces for my Operation Christmas Child Shoebox. My ladies bible study group is packing boxes on Tuesday morning so I grabbed a few extra items for those.  If you have no idea what I'm talking about, click here to get details. It's not too late to pack a box, if you haven't already.

And that my friends was the weekend.  Short and sweet and filled with just enough happies to get me through an hour in the dentist chair today.  So how was your weekend?

  1. We try, don't we?! That sounds like something that would happen over here.
We came home from vacation, went to dinner with our girls, I unpacked, started laundry, had nice long conversations with previously mentioned, much missed girls, introduced girls to Chipolte (they were fast friends!). Slept in my OWN BED!!!!! It was loverly!
I do feel like the holidays are breathing down my neck though. Here we GO!

  2. I had a good weekend too, but I am in denial about how close to Thanksgiving (and then Christmas) we are getting! We celebrated a niece's 40th birthday on Saturday, went to church, watched lots of football! I missed Auburn - Georgia, because I was watching my Gamecocks at the same time and they somehow got a win. Not really proud of it...but a win is a win. Happy Monday!!

  3. Sounds like a nice weekend to me! We had warm weather on Saturday, too, but no sunshine - even a few sprinkles.

  4. My weekend was lovely as I celebrated #55! But as you said, these magic moments fly by way too fast!

  5. My weekend was only one day, since we had a big art event at my work, and my one day was spent doing laundry and cleaning. Maybe next weekend will feel like a weekend!! Yours sounds lovely, except for hubs leaving again on another trip. Enjoy your good weather!!

  6. A trip to the dentist definitely says the weekend is over but it sounds like you had a great one, even if it was a little short. I saw a play and a kids basketball game, got together with neighbors and watched (most) of the Broncos game. Good weather here too.

  7. Lovely weekend! And you're getting to techno savvy! :-)
Until this weekend, watching the news, I couldn't even have told you what Auburn was! (and I still don't know where it is), but that play was just amazing and so fun to watch.

  9. Brad and Jennifer were here watching the Ga/Auburn game, on Saturday. I'm not a football fan, but that was SOME PLAY! We were sad for our bulldogs, of course.

Hope your dentist visit goes well. Happy Monday!

  10. Sounds like you had a relaxing weekend. I watched Lifetime Christmas movies all day yesterday, one of my very favorite things to do. That is where you will find me every weekend until after the holidays. The cooking and shopping will have to wait!

  11. Well, sounds like you "packed some punch" into that one day. And, I do know all about the Auburn/Georgia game and now we CANNOT wait for the Auburn/Alabama game. Talk about good!!!!

Hope all went well with the dentist, my visits are usually very eventful as I have terrible teeth. Happy week!

  13. You must have been really tired! We missed the game on Sat. because we were purposely out of touch (well, except for the instagram pictures!). Looked like it was an awesome game!

  14. Happy Monday, Joyce. I know the feeling of wondering "what happened to my weekend". Love those warm autumn days. Our warm autumn day came yesterday (Sunday) and it brought us lots of bad weather, including several tornadoes. It was a horrible day, lots of damage and destruction and loss of lives. Thankfully, we are all ok here.

  15. I happen to have seen that game. Adam was over so I was actually in the family room watching football, normally I'm not watching at all. Sounds like a pack filled weekend. Blessing to hubs and all the traveling. I didn't do boxes this year but did send money for them to make some for me!

  16. OK for the pics on your camera just remove the memory card and slide it in the slot on your computer made for memory cards and upload it that way. We had temps that high this weekend as well then those nasty storms rolled through. Thankfully we got spared the nasty stuff but for a while it was dicy.

  17. The warmth over the weekend was such a treat before the big storms here. Hope your dental visit went well

  18. Even though it was quick, it sounds like a blissful weekend. We spent Saturday in the Twin Cities, which involved me being left at Panera while Hubby got the oil changed and tired rotated on my car. Oh, and he left me at the Mall of American while he shopped for something mysterious. :) I love days like that with him. I like wandering around the big city with him.
And I am totally with you on the not cooking at home thing when the weekend is short or whatever rules need to be made to make sure there is no cooking done. ;)
