Calling All Readers

My daughter has a link up on her blog today and I thought I'd play along. We're supposed to come up with a list of our top ten texts...books we want to have in our own libraries and keep forever...books we never get tired of reading. No pressure though. Ha.

I have picked ten. However these are not my only ten. They are just ten that I know I would want in my personal library. And, yes, my daughter and I have some of the same books and I'm sure if my mom and sisters and my daughter2 all made lists we'd probably have some of the same too. Reading is a family affair in our house. I'd love to see your list...click here to link it to Daughter1's blog and see what others have said.

1. Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery
2. Charlotte's Web by E.B. White
3. Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
4. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis
5. The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough
6. The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett
7. The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher
8. The Prince of Tides by Pat Conroy
9. Crow Boy by Taro Yashima
10. The Mitford Series by Jan Karon

Happy Reading!

  2. Ha ha - love how you included the Mitfords in one by labeling it "series".

    And Charlotte's Web?

  3. Yeah, that pretty much sums up my list, except I'd also include the Bible!

  5. I feel like The Bible belongs in its own category and then I just had to come up with some of my favorite fiction. I have lots more...ten is not nearly enough.

  6. Pillars of the Earth is one that I'd like to read again. I usually only read a book one time...after I know how it ends I don't care to read it again!

  7. Hmmmm . . . food for thought. I'd include Pat Conroy too, but I'm not sure which one. I think you showed great restraint by just picking one C.S. Lewis though.
