We spent the weekend here...
The hotel was fabulous.
In fact, the entire weekend could not have been more perfect.
Even the weather was all sunshine and happiness.
the wedding of a sweet sweet girl and her handsome groom.
A reception followed the beautiful ceremony.
Spectacular...
right down to the last detail.
I have to say that my hubs has the best tuxedo shirt around.
With his jacket on it looks pretty ordinary, run of the mill even...
He bought it in London and the tailor does one a year using all the different patterns of the shirts he's made the previous twelve months.
If you know my hubs you will know this works for him.
Case in point-do you see the trumpet on the end?
Hubs may or may not have played that trumpet at some point during the evening.
The band was phenomenal.
And obviously nice too.
We've known each other for over 20 years, since living in NJ the first time round-1989.
My youngest daughter and her oldest daughter are great pals too.
We have both moved here, there, and everywhere but ended up together again in the UK, living out of each other's pocket as the saying goes.
We both moved back to the states at the same time but they're a few states away so we don't see each other as often as we'd like.
She and I did a lot of talking this weekend.
A lot a lot.
The weekend was too short.
And went too fast.
I woke up in NJ this morning.
It was 36 degrees.
Sigh.
Wow, what a weekend!!!!! As awesome as the wedding sounds, it would have been hard for me to pull myself away from the beach. ha! Just kidding ... sort of. ;-)
ReplyDeleteOur weekend was a warm mid-60s, but nothing like warm-at-the-beach kind of warm. lol. Beautiful bride. Great dress with all that lace. The hubs shirt is a deff party shirt. So him. You look fabulous. Thanks for sharing. Blessings, SusanD
ReplyDeleteOh, I love Naples. We came close to buying a home there years ago, but opted for a place up in Punta Gorda.
ReplyDeleteWas that red velvet cake? Mmmmmmmmm!
That looked like great fun! I'm pretty sure my Hubs would totally wear that shirt too. :)
ReplyDeleteI love weddings and this one looked beautiful. Naples is such a gorgeous place! Glad you had fun. I love your dress and hubby's shirt is pretty amazing too. Love & blessings from NC!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun time! Nothing like catching up with old friends. And the wedding was beautiful! I love the shirt! Your hubs kills me. You guys make such a good couple! I bet your house is never dull. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteuntil next time... nel
We had some beach time this weekend, but not near as posh as Naples. Beautiful wedding pictures. Always fun to catch up with friends. Love the 'party in a shirt.' Ha. And even the 36 degrees. ;)
ReplyDeleteThis was a great post! You look so pretty in those pictures. It sounds like you have a fun husband! I'm so glad you got to see your good friend too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful wedding! Your photos are amazing. I remember you telling the story of how your two families kept ending up in the same places. Isn't daughter2 great friends with their daughter? Did D2 get to go to the wedding?
ReplyDeleteI love that your hubs sports that shirt proudly. And the guy who made it is brilliant. Such fun. A party in a shirt. You guys have a ton of fun wherever you go.
I cry every time I see the bride walking down the aisle. Funny enough, I didn't cry when it was me.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! What a beautiful place. You look so pretty, Joyce.
ReplyDeleteI love your husband's shirt & the story behind it.
Glad you had a fun & warm get-away.
It got cold here so fast!! beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteThat shirt is awesome - and it has a fun story too!
ReplyDeleteSigh, it's only November 1 and already pictures of the beach are drawing me!
I want to go to Florida.
ReplyDeleteIt is cold here.
Looks like a jolly good time. You lead a fantastically thrilling, life Joyce. :)
Y'all go to the best weddings! That looks amazing. Yes, the shirt is your hubs, and I'm not a big surprised he played the trumpet!
ReplyDeleteAnd, I love that you have a picture in your barefeet! (ha, ha!)
Beautiful post, and gorgeous pictures. I don't mind that it's finally turning colder here, but brrr 36 degrees is a tad too cold I think. Have a great week. hugs Denise
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful weekend, hotel, and wedding. It all looked fabulous and I'm, of course, a tad jealous. Love hubby's shirt too. How fun!
ReplyDeleteThe beach sounds wonderful AND looks wonderful! Love the hubs shirt! That sounds like a garment I would wear! I've been teased about some of my crazy clothes through the years but have tended to get more conservative as I've gotten older for some reason!
ReplyDeleteLoved the gorgeous wedding pics! So glad you had such a great weekend, Joyce!
What a beautiful place to go for a wedding. Looks like it was spectacular! I am in love with the shirt, it is incrediable. The pictures are perfect and you both look awesome.
