Welcome to this week's edition of The Wednesday Hodgepodge. If you've answered today's questions add your link at the end of my post. Then leave a comment for your neighbor there because comments make the blog world go round. Here we go-
1. What kind of thinker are you-doer concrete thinking) analyst (analytical and abstract thinking), orator (logical thinking) inventor (imaginative thinking) or original thinker (creative)? What makes you say so? You can try this little quiz (link here) to help with your answer.2. Do you own a crock pot, air fryer, and/or instapot? Do you leave said small appliance sitting out? How often do you use it/them? Favorite thing to make in one of these?
I still have my trusty crock pot and use it more this time of year (winter) than in other seasons. My favorite thing to make in my crock pot is the Mississippi roast, but I also make stroganoff, jambalaya, and a Mediterranean chicken that are all tasty.
I keep my crock pot in the pantry and part of the reason I don't go all in on an air fryer or instapot is because I don't like the idea of them sitting out on the countertop. I'm retired so rarely need to cook anything fast.
3. What's something you hold a strong opinion on that matters not at all in the grand scheme of things?
How to load a dishwasher lol.
4. Describe the view from your window.
I normally blog from my office but happen to be sitting at my kitchen island currently. The view is not too shabby...
...blue sky, blue water, tall trees
5. Do you have a favorite brand? Explain.
I'm sure I have many favorite brands. I also have become much more attuned to what some of the companies whose products I love are supporting with their profits. We can't do a deep dive into every single thing we purchase, but if advertising that goes against my own principles is in my face I'll find an alternative product.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
February got the memo and her sunrises have been so pretty in pink ...

Your view is spectacular. I laughed out loud at your comment about the dishwasher. My towel comment last week goes right along with your dishwasher. haha!
ReplyDeleteAaaaahhhh...the dishwasher!!! I completely agree with you! Beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful view from your window. Random thought pictures are gorgeous. I have seen some awesome, gorgeous sunrises a couple of weeks ago. God sure has painted the sky beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic view y'all have! Lovely photos too. Our Lord & God is the best painter of all, amen?! Blessings.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sunrises!
ReplyDeleteLove your beautiful lake view through the tall trees. I always enjoy your writing and how you express yourself. Speaking of the dishwasher. I ran it yesterday evening and when I woke up this morning it was running again. My retired assistant didn't remember I ran it and decided to run it. Those dishes are going to be super clean! Thanks for the Hodgepodge.
ReplyDeleteGood point about the brands. I do try to consider those things when making purchases, but sometimes our choices are limited to what's on the shelf, and it's more a case of buy it or not. "Not" is also a legitimate choice.
ReplyDeleteMy scores were mostly clumped around inventor/creative (no surprise at all!), and Analyst/ Original thinker... orator was low for me because while I love writing as self expression I do not enjoy any sort of public speaking. Your kitchen views are lovely as are those sunrises!
ReplyDeleteYou will see that I did the quiz. My indicated that I an inventor. Your meals in the crock pot sound delicious. Loading the dishwasher is a good one. I couldn't think of anything. You have a lovely view and live in a beautiful area. Nothing like a beautiful sunrise. Have a great day Joyce.
ReplyDeleteThe view from your kitchen window is stunning! I could sit there at your island all day.
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice peaceful view from your window. Beautiful sunrises, too
ReplyDeleteHappy Hodgepodge Joyce, I made it today. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove your view.
Love the sunrises too.
Carla
I love your thoughts on favorite brands. I've been unintentionally ignorant about that sort of thing, and my wee patronage may not mean a great deal to Big Business -- yet I'm going to start paying attention.
ReplyDeleteMe a thinker, I don't think so, I am a live in the moment type of person and thinking hurts my head.........lol
ReplyDeleteA daughter borrowed my slow cooker aka crockpot and still has it, my air fryer died only this week so that needs to be replaced, it gets a lot of use.
Can't think of a damn thing.
Outside my front door, my loungeroom has no windows I see birds lots of birds.
Here is how much you scored for every type:
Doer: 50%
Analyst: 25%
Orator: 13%
Inventor: 63%
Original Thinker: 63%
I love your view! Interesting what you said about not needing to cook fast with the air fryer. Not sure ours cooks much faster but the heat up time compared to our electric oven is so much quicker and I think it's more economical so those were influential factors when we were thinking about buying one.
ReplyDeleteYour water views and those sunsets are beyond gorgeous! Thanks again for a very fun Hodgepodge!! xo
ReplyDeleteYes, without a doubt, your view thru the kitchen sink window is wonderful, and the sunrise pictures are a great way to begin the day!
ReplyDeleteYou had more luck with the weather in February ! I am waiting that my feet are replaced by flippers with all this water ! You have a very nice view from your Blog "office" and there is even a blue sky !
ReplyDeleteI was a 63% in Doer, Orator and Original Thinker and quite low in Analyst and Inventor. Not too surprising for a first-born, get-her-done type. We do use an Instapot mostly for soups and some veggies. I keep it in the laundry room because I can't stand cluttered counter tops, much to my hubs chagrin.
ReplyDeleteYour views are gorgeous!! How I'd love to have that view out my kitchen window. :-) I am the same way about brands, I guess. I haven't the time to research everything but if their advertising or a social stance is offensive to me and shoved at me, I'm done and won't likely be back. Sorry I'm so late commenting this time around!
