SNOW ALERT SNOW ALERT SNOW ALERT

Before I get started with the Christmas pics I feel it is only appropriate to first take a moment and discuss the Christmas weather. Weather ruled the day and besides... y'all know how I love to blog about the weather, right?

Question for you...why do they call the Smoky Mountains the Smoky Mountains?

Beats me.
They're beautiful aren't they?

the mountains too...

And covered in snow?

More beautiful.
Yes the mountains are still there.

I believe this is what is known as a whiteout.

Besides being beautiful covered in snow they are also just a wee bit of trouble.

More than a wee bit if we're being honest...

Not our car by the way but still, it could have been.
We were in a Jeep and hubs likes to say things like, "Let's see what the Jeep can do."
Let's not.

Obviously we did not do a lot of sitting on the deck but a few of the crazies did dash barefoot thru the snow one night so they could sit in the hot tub.

On Monday the clouds lifted and the snow f-i-n-a-l-l-y stopped falling and the sun shone bright and beautiful...

Snow and sun on the Smokies with family all around...

are all that you need to make 'another tender Tennessee Christmas' complete.

  1. I was in East TN back a few weeks ago, and while we didn't have any snow, it was cold!!! We were up in the mountains in this cabin in the middle of NOWHERE, and I seriously had some cell phone and internet withdrawals. I now know without a doubt that I will always be a city girl!

Your pics are beautiful, and it looks like you and your family had a wonderful time. :o)

  4. That is sooo pretty!

That's EXACTLY how (and the only way) I like snow... in a cabin with no place to be except right where you are. Nice.

And that's exactly what my Hubby would say too!

  6. Beautiful photos! Christmas in the mountains--now that sounds like fun! Not sure I could brave the snow for the hottub though!!!
I'd been wondering how things were where you live--with all the snow in your area right after Christmas. I guess you missed out on that, huh?

  12. Just beautiful!

All the snow that came through the norther coast line caused out flight to New York to be canceled. We had a small vacation trip planed while the daughter is with her aunt, just an impromptu trip for a few days, a little husband and wife time!

Our flight canceled and we were not able to rebook, the airlines could have re-booked us for December 31 but the hubs has to go back to work and the hotel points were not good over the new year holiday, major bummer!

Any way your snow look wonderful!

    Blessings
