M is also for Making New Friends

Yesterday I met two bloggers in real life, Kim from Kimberly's Korner and Darlene from Adventures of a Middle Age Mom.

How funny does that sound?
In real life?

Kim only lives a few minutes from me but we'd never met face to face.
We waited (and waited!) for winter to finally end and then put an invite out to any NJ bloggers we'd come across while reading. We have a list of about ten names but just three of us were able to meet on Friday.

We had a nice lunch at an Italian restaurant not far from here.
The sun was shining too, which felt like a little icing on the cake.
The three of us happen to be in the approximate same season of life and discovered we have a lot in common besides blogging. Of course we did talk about our blogs, why we blog, issues of privacy and even some of the 'technical' stuff which was helpful.

Thanks for a lovely afternoon Kim and Darlene...
it's always fun to meet new people and make new friends.

We're already making plans to do it again and we hope to add to our numbers.
If you're a NJ blogger email me...we'd love to include you in our next gathering.

  1. How fun! I love meeting internet friend "in real life" for the first time. It has always been an amazing time for me.

  2. It is neat to meet other bloggers! Glad it went well!

  3. That's a great picture! Most of the time the wait staff is not so good at taking pictures. :)

The Hubs and I are trying to decide on whether or not we attend a wedding this summer in Rhinebeck, NY. Is that anywhere near you?

Wish I was a NJ Blogger yesterday. :)

  4. I have met only one "blog friend" in person and it was really fun. I need to make the effort to meet a few others that are fairly close.

  5. I always love meeting blog friends! Glad you were able to get together with your NJ blog friends. Great picture! Have a wonderful weekend. Love & blessings from NC!

  6. Love that!!
I have a group of ivillage friends that I vacation with every year. It's great to meet people you would never meet w/o the internet!

  7. I've met readers in real life, but never another blogger. What fun!

  8. Looks like fun. My sister and nieces are in New Jersey.

  9. What fun, sure wish that I was close enough to have lunch next time. Blogging buddies are just the BEST!

  10. Minnesota is pretty close to NJ, right??? I wish. How fun for you!
