No Fidgeting In The Hodgepodge

Happy fall y'all! It's been such a pretty autumn here so far and I am loving all the color. Welcome to another edition of the weekly Wednesday Hodgepodge. If you've answered today's questions add your link at the end of my post, then leave a comment for the blogger before you. Here we go-

From this Side of the Pond
1. What's something you wish you'd figured out sooner?

That what matters for eternity is what I need to devote my time and energy toward.

2. Something from childhood you still enjoy today?

coloring, reading, swimming, a bowl of popcorn, feeling like anything is possible on a sunny summer day, someone else doing my hair lol

3. Are you a fidgeter? What's the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word fidget?

The first thing that comes to mind when I hear the word fidget is church. I'm not much of a fidgeter but a long church service will find me shifting in my seat, crossing and uncrossing my legs, fiddling with my hair, that sort of thing.

4. Your favorite fall vegetable? How do you like it prepared?

I found a list of fall vegetables here, and since there isn't anything on that list I don't like it's hard to pick a favorite. Pickled beets, roasted cauliflower, and carrot soup would probably be my top three.

5. What's something you find mildly annoying, but not annoying enough to actually do anything about? Might you now?

My phone needs a clean up and every time I use it I think I really should do something about deleting pictures, removing unused apps, and consolidating people on my contact list who for some reason are in there twice. Do I take the time to actually do this? No. I just feel annoyed when I get that 'you're almost out of storage message' or I go to call someone and can't figure out which number is theirs and which is their spouse's.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

I've been blogging my way up the California Coast after our recent trip there and here's a little snippet from  tomorrow's post-

This would keep me awake at night. Curious to know what you're paying for gas and which part of the country you're living in? For those blogging from Europe, I know this number probably doesn't shock you the way it shocks us non-Californians.

fyi-we paid 3.24/gallon in the upstate of South Carolina this week

  1. I think gas in our part of Alabama is about $3.29 a gallon this week. I think I would need to walk everywhere at $6+ a gallon. As always, thank you for the questions!

  2. California's gas prices are so out of control. NE Washington State is at about $4.79. We are lower here in the country than Seattle's prices. We paid $4.39 at Costco yesterday. Costco is generally the cheapest gas for us. I love your answer to #1. There is so much we are learning about Doctrine, etc. etc. lately and we keep hitting our foreheads wondering how we ignored so much. So much to learn and enjoy about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit! I've enjoyed your Pacific coast trip! Cheers!

  3. Love your answer for #2, those are great things. Yes, church would be a time to possibly fidget if it goes on to long. Those are great vegetables you picked. I always seem to get stuck on questions when I'm answering them. I seem to do a light cleaning often on clearing things from my phone. Mark paid $5.99 for gas yesterday. We are not as high as the coast but it's ridiculous. We shall see what it costs us to drive to Montana this week. I know the hotel costs have doubled in price. Take care.

  4. Hello, I had to laugh at your answer for #5.. I am in the same boat. ;-)
We paid $4.09 a gallon in Northwest Wisconsin last week.

  5. I want to say that here in CT our gas ranges from $4 -$5 dollars (it was around/over/near 5 in the summer) but it's more in the 4 range now. I too like so many of the fall vegetables that it would be hard to pick a favorite. Tonight I'm making butternut squash "fries" and I would have to say I eat butternut squash at least once a week.

  6. I paid 3.47 a gallon on Monday. I am a stickler about my phone. I have folders with apps inside, can't stand odd pics on it and so on. And, heaven forbid that there would be a red dot on any app. :o)) So enjoyed your answers!

  8. Our gasoline is hanging in around $3.29 to $3.49 here in central Florida. It was pretty much the same until we hit Maryland where it went up to $3.89. Thanks for the Hodgepodge this week, Joyce! I enjoyed your answers! xo

  9. We are paying around $3.10 here in Houston. Not looking forward to those CA prices on our trip there in a few weeks!

  10. That thing with the phone drives me nuts too but do I sit and organize it and clean it out? Nope! I also share an apple ID with my teenage son so I have his photos in there too! Argh!

I like the list of things you like now that you liked as a child. I could agree with many of those.

Gas here in Northern Pennsylvania is currently $3.99 a galon. It had dropped to about $3.39 and then came back up with whatever our idiot politicians (of all partries) are doing these days.

  11. Gas prices are high here too, but thankfully not that high. I just checked my app and it appears they are running around $3.95 here today. Crazy! I need to clean up my phone too. Yuck! Thanks for the questions again and I enjoyed reading yours as always.
