This picture is everything I love about childhood.
Oh to be not quite twelve.
All long legs and elbows.
Blonde hair kissed by the summer sun.
Little girl laughter that bubbles up and over, impossible to contain.
The salty sea air calls your name and you answer.
Arms wide open to the world.
The sense that anything is possible.
To feel in a single moment that life is perfect.
Because in that moment, it is.
Exuberance.
This might just be my favorite yet! Though it's hard to say- I love all of your A-Z posts!

Hi. I enjoyed the pic and the poem. Unfortunately, neither reflected me at twelve or at any other age. Sigh! Short, and never a water dog. Thanks, though. Best regards to you. Ruby.
ReplyDeleteExuberance is a bit low on the ground at my age. As you say, oh to be 12, well 32 maybe.
