We're A Hap-py Fa-mi-ly

Day 8-Purple

Okay.

But reallyPurple? I like purple, but it's not my favorite color. I love wearing purple, but don't use it in my home decor. I like eggplant, does that count? Pretty sure this prompt calls for a bit of artistic license, so let's take advantage of the fact that it's Thursday and talk throwback.

Who remembers Barney, the big purple dinosaur? Is Barney still a thing, because back in 1993 he was all the rage. 'I love you, you love me...' Talk about an ear worm! If you were raising children in the early 90's you can finish that lyric in your sleep.

Yay for parents who sang along with Barney!

I know in my collection of photographs I have the cutest picture of Daughter2 unwrapping a stuffed Barney doll on her third birthday. The complete and utter joy on her face cannot be explained in words, and I'd so love to post the photo here, but cannot for the life of me find it in my online photo 'system'.  ahem.

The actual photo lies tucked away in a box, currently resting in the deepest nether-regions of our moving container parked inside a warehouse.

In New Jersey.
Bother.

R is for re-organize those online photos Mom!

Turns out Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun is still shining down on me though, because in my search for Barney I found something even better. Pure purple awesomeness in the form of these throwbacks, circa 2009.

Purple.
Bam! Nailed it!

  1. No better way to nail it than with throw back pics of beautiful daughters. She is absolutely radiant and it isn't just from the sun. Purple can be a good thing.

  3. I'm not into purple at all and my children are a little older so Barney was not a thing for them. I do however love the TBT photos!

  5. The Barney song and earworm? Yes. When I taught preschool, I used watching Barney or Elmo as punishment. "If y'all don't behave, I'm gonna make y'all watch Barney." "NOOOOO!" Hey, it worked.

  6. You're right...great minds and all. lol Take it even a step further. I was trying to find a picture of my youngest dressed as Barney for Halloween when she was 2 years old. Couldn't find it either.

  7. Purple is Bang's favorite color. He even has a pair of purple crocks. They match absolutely nothing he wears, but I guess that's the beauty of being 4. As for Barney, I was in high school and university in the 90's so I missed out on that lovely dinosaur. Thank God. :)

  9. MS was a late talker, but he could sing the Barney Song like nobody's business! I credit Barney for being able to take showers when he was little!
