Hand dipped coconut. Or a vanilla soft serve dipped in chocolate shell. What I really love though, is gelato.
In Italy.
2. When you travel do you tend to pack too much or too little?
You'd think with all the packing I do I'd be a pro but I normally pack too much. Except this past weekend I had too little. I was fine but it was so hot I wish I'd had a couple more tops. I normally have just the right clothes but shoes are my downfall. Women need a lot more shoes for a weekend away than men do...at least I think so.
3. What's your favorite cleaning product?
Can I say my husband? He rocks at cleaning the showers. If not I'm going with good old Windex. I hate fingerprints on the glass top coffee table and doggy breath stains on the front windows.
4. What's the greater tragedy-an innocent person imprisoned or a guilty person set free? Explain.
An innocent person imprisoned. Both are a tragedy but the guilty person will ultimately be judged, maybe not in this life but for sure the next. An innocent person imprisoned loses a piece of their life that can never be reclaimed.
5. What's the longest trip you've taken by car?
Hmmm...we've taken a lot of car trips. I think our longest road trip by car would be the trip we took in September 09 from NJ to Prince Edward Island Canada. Or the end of the earth as my hubs likes to say.
It was about 1000 miles one way and most of the drive was beautiful. We both say this was one of our favorite trips ever, and that's sayin' something. I wrote three posts about it which you can read here, here, and here.
6. tennis-golf-canoeing-biking...pick one.
canoeing...I love to canoe and I love the water.
7. What sound drives you crazy?
smacking...as in food. shudder.
the kids on dirt bikes in the woods behind our house sometimes grate too...I understand they are kids but on a peaceful evening the sound is jarring and in my opinion upsets the balance of nature.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
I have so very many random thoughts. Sigh.
How 'bout this-we put in a new mailbox. And by we I mean the mailbox guy put in a new mailbox. It required concrete and 100 degree heat and all day and in case anyone has forgotten I have a hubs who travels.
The mailbox has brass numbers on the side but I have very cleverly edited those out. I love the new look...so much better than the old one with the rust spots and the tilting post. It's the little things in life, isn't it?
I answered #4 almost exactly as you did. Living in Florida, I can't help but think about the Casey Anthony case. Who knows what the truth is. Only God does, and we'll just have to trust Him.
ReplyDeleteLove the new mailbox. Those flowers are so pretty!!
Love your mailbox! It's so pretty... never thought I'd call a mailbox "pretty" but ... well, IT IS!
ReplyDelete;-)
Your reply for #3 - hubby being your fav cleaning product made me almost choke with laughter on my coffee! hee hee hee.... too funny.
Oh my goodness... I LOVE LOVE LOVE your new mailbox! So crisp, clean, and stylish! I don't think I've ever said this... but I have mailbox envy! :-)
ReplyDeleteThe mailbox is exactly the kind I'm wanting. Mail in front, flowers in back, sturdy white post, solid black box. Ours got knocked over in the blizzard of 2010. It's upright, but held together with a bungie cord. Not all that cool.
ReplyDeletePEI--a place I thought about going several times. And hey, when I get to Italy, a gelato is on my list. You're not the first person to tell me how indescribably good it is.
Hand dipped coconut. Yum!
I totally agree with you on # 1,2,3, and # 6, and the mail box is super cute.
ReplyDeleteHi Joyce,
ReplyDeleteI have been on vacation and away from the weekly Hodgepodge forever, it seems. Looks like we share a taste for Italian gelato! Glad to be back in "the loop."
Hi...I'm a new follower. I came over from Donna's @ The House on the Corner...as she says, "She's a Hoot!"
ReplyDeleteI hope you will come visit me: McGuffyAnn

Love the new mailbox. I'd like to explore Canada some day. Have a great day and thanks for hosting the HodgePodge every week.
ReplyDeleteLove #3! Problem is hubby's idea of clean are mine are not the same thing. I'm with you on the dogs "nose art" as I call them on the glass doors.
ReplyDeleteI have the same mailbox....use to have flowers in it until last week when on vacation and my neighbor forgot to water them! Your Canada drive sounds fun but long. On our drive to NJ shore we listen to book on CD first time I really thought it made the trip go by fast. Have a wonderful Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteI love your mailbox. Wish we could have something like that, but our subdivision covenants require something altogether different -- nothing horrible, but nothing as beautiful as yours.
ReplyDeleteI forgot that smacking (as in lips?) annoys the snot out of me. ha! If I thought about it very long, I fear that there might be a good-sized list of sounds that annoy. ha!
My daughter and I did Prince Edward Island too and I agree it was one of the most beautiful trips I have ever made. We left the day after Memorial Day and were gone 10 days...just the two of us. Still Magnolia from Karen's Korner
ReplyDelete:) mailbox--and smacking while eating drives me crazy.
ReplyDeleteI had such a similar answer on the question about an innocent person imprisoned!
ReplyDeleteFunny how these questions make you see how much you have in common with others. Thanks for doing Wednesday's Hodgepodge- such fun!
Cute mailbox! Gelato. mmmm. There was a guy from Italy that used to make gelato for a local cafe until it closed. It was yummy!
ReplyDeleteYour first comment about the treadmill cracked me up. Let me know if that really works for ya! Your husband as a cleaner is too funny too...Very cute! Why didn't I think of the shoes...Oui! That is a big problem for me when packing. Good weather isn't so bad cuz sandles compress but cold weather with clunky shoes...what a pain! My Loverbrains struggles with it too...cuz he has to wear special huge boots in plants...but can't fit them in his suitcase...so he has to wear them on the plane...which isn't fabulous for long flights.
ReplyDeleteThe biggest problem I have with guilty people being set free is the risk of them becoming repeat offenders---we've had some serious crimes in the general area that are the result of this very thing. And, while I agree that they will be held accountable eventually, that does little to comfort those who became victims after the setting free. That's why I said that both are tragedies. You come up with the most thought provoking questions!
ReplyDeleteWow, riding 1000 miles...I'd never make it! I can barely make 120!
ReplyDeleteI love your new mailbox, by the way!
I liked these questions. Daddy would be my favorite cleaning tool as well! I am so impressed that you edited out the numbers on the mailbos, well done!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize this is National Ice Cream month. We bought ice cream last week, so I guess we celebrated :)
ReplyDeleteI like these questions. Some of our answers are similar.
I can't imagine driving/riding for 1000 miles.
I barely make it from GA to Tampa.
I like your new mailbox.
Perhaps we are the twins...separated at birth! We married fellas with similar attributes and neither of us can stand ppl who smack their food. ahaha. Blessings, SusanD
ReplyDeleteYour mailbox is cuter than my whole house. :)
ReplyDeleteMoose tracks in waffle cone.
Hi Joyce,
ReplyDeleteLove your new mail box. Have a great day!

I totally agree with #2! We need more shoes! I mean for traveling. : ) Well, in general too.
ReplyDeleteHey, my dad is from PEI! And I grew up in Nova Scotia. Hope you liked my neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me - I have a recipe for coconut ice cream that I have not made yet this year. I need to do that!
ReplyDeleteYou are getting lots of comments on your mailbox. It is very nice and I want to say I love it too. I joined your hop. I saw you mentioned on another blog I follow. I hope you will take a moment to stop by my blog and check out my kind of fashion (hair jewelry). I'm not just trying to gain followers with hopping, I'm trying to spread the word about a product I love. Here's my url http://talesfrommyjournal.blogspot.com I also have a facebook pagewhich is www.facebook.com/DeniseMartin.LillaRose I hope you can stop by there as well. It's the fastest way to hear about specials. Let me know if you have a facebook page too so I can return the favor.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say, I didn't see the rules to this hop. Please let me know what they are.
ReplyDeleteOh don't get me started on the shoes! Ha. I love the mailbox!
ReplyDeleteDo you have to replant the flowers yourself or does a homeowners association do that for you?
Oooh, PEI. I'd love to go there one day. What with my infatuation with Anne and all.
ReplyDeleteCan I borrow your Hubs? I have 3 showers that need a good scrubbing!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty mailbox :)
Love your new mailbox! Mine is just your typical town PO Box! Nothing special.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think about the lip smacking! That's a biggie!!! Coconut ice cream sounds wonderful, but gelato in Italy: even better!
ReplyDeleteLove your mailbox! We've needed one ever since we've moved in, especially now that the snow plow made it tilt to one side last winter!
I grew up with my mom reprimanding my brother and I when we smacked. I am ridiculously aware of the smacking sound and constantly amazed at the number of people who do it!
ReplyDeleteOh my, shoes for sure! Any trip over two days and I'm going to have a bag of just shoes.
ReplyDeleteThe mailbox is lovely!
Thanks for sending me over to Cranberry Morning for the peach pie recipe. It looks divine! I am bound and determined to make it before I flip the calendar to August!
ReplyDeleteMouth noises are my pet peeve too! I absolutely cannot handle the sound of people chewing or swallowing. Bleck.
ReplyDeleteYour new mailbox is glorious. Mine is pretty sad and has a hole in the front that lets in the occasional bee. It's like Russian Roulette every time we open it to get the mail. I think I'm going to put that on 'Fess Up Friday. Thanks for the reminder ;)
Love the new mailbox. I would think by now that your would be a pro at packing!!! I don't think I have had coconut ice cream but it sounds wonderful. A dipped DQ would be good too! Wow, your husband does rock if he cleans the shower. Thanks for the great questions Joyce.
