Down by the Bay

This was the view that greeted me outside my bedroom window when I opened my eyes on Saturday morning-

So nice. Sigh. We spent the weekend on my sister and brother in law's boat which they had docked in Cambridge Maryland for a few days. And yes we did spend yet another weekend trekking up and down I-95 but a weekend anywhere near the Chesapeake is so worth it. Being on the river is pretty much our favorite thing and the weather couldn't have been nicer.

We were docked in a marina run by the Hyatt which had beautiful grounds and three swimming pools to enjoy during the day.

My mom and my South Carolina sister and brother in law also came along and it was especially fun to have a weekend with my sisters.

My younger sister and her husband have a three year old little boy and we loved watching him splash in the pool

study the sea life

and just 'be three'.

The sun, the sea and this cutie patootie made for one great weekend.

And I'll let you decide which one I mean when I say cutie patootie.

  1. Looks like fun. We went through Cambridge twice this summer. Once on the way to our son's graduation from St. John's and then again when I went back to Annapolis to help them move to Savannah. We stopped for a night at my cousin's home in Accomac, VA, on the Eastern Shore and stopped at a park in Cambridge. Looks like a nice town.

  2. Joyce,

I would have to say both!! What an incredible time it looks like you all had. I can just feel relaxation coming from all the pictures and can imagine the beautiful skies!

Thanks for sharing all of this with us.

  3. What a fun weekend you had visiting with your sisters and their hubbies. Your nephew is precious!!! 3 year olds are so much fun! He is truly a cutie-patootie! Tell Tim he is a cutie-patootie too! We wouldn't want Tim to get his feelings hurt. Glad you had some much needed rest and relaxation. Those boxes aren't going anywhere at your house, so enjoy the traveling and visiting while you can! Have a great week. Love & blessings from NC!

  4. That's such a beautiful part of Maryland and Virginia, and those pictures looked so peaceful.

Sigh...I need to get to the water.

  5. It looks like you had a wonderful time with your family. The bay is gorgeous! Before long, winter will be here and you will be glad you had the opportunity to have fun this summer. You will have time enough then to unpack.
