I won't mention againhow difficult it is to blog this week, k?
Also this post has nothing to do with change.
Except I saw my Daughter2 for a quick minute and if you look at her you will know what I looked like 30 years ago.
She is my mini me.
Minus the tired eyes of course.
It's an amazing thing to have a child who is the spitting image of the girl you once were. In my head I'm still that girl, but the mirror begs to differ. I think I'm okay with that though.
There's a saying, "youth is wasted on the young" but I don't think that's true. It's good to be young. To not know what you don't know. To make mistakes and learn from them. It's also good to grow a little older every year. To recognize that every season of life is built upon the one that came before.
To look behind and look ahead, but find contentment where you are.
Well said, Joyce. Great pic. Your daughter is darling and so are you!!
ReplyDeleteI so agree and might I say, you did a stellar job with the blog challenge and I commend you. I sure missed our HP yesterday but so glad you took a much needed, well deserved break!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely pic of the two of you. My daughter is definitely not a mini me in looks, nature maybe but in looks she is very like her aunts on hubby's side of the family. So much so that when she started at secondary school she was immediately identified as a Jakob by several teachers who had taught the aunts. I love your last statement too, I'm working on that one.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo! Your daughter IS a mini you :) My daughter is a mini me, too...
ReplyDeleteOnly one more post to go, and you'll have completed the challenge!!!
And look at the beauty she has to look forward to - you both look great!
ReplyDeleteYou surely do look a lot alike. When people notice my daughters and me looking similar, I'm always surprised. They are much prettier than I ever was!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, is she ever! Both soo cute. I think about that often as I watch my daughter with her young ones. Doesn't seem that long ago it was me and I remember the days so well. Love re-living them through her. Enjoy your week-end!
ReplyDeleteWell, Vicki said exactly what I was going to say!! I agree with you that you do look tired. I can't imagine all you are doing right now, and the emotion that you have to deal with too. Be sure to take some time for you and try to find some time for a 10 minute nap with your feet up each day. Take care!! (Great post. I love how you write so beautifully about your feelings.)
ReplyDeleteWow! You both are beautiful. :-)
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed all your posts during this challenge. I know it has been a challenge with so much going on. So here is a HIGH FIVE! You did well!
Carla
WOW, she looks just like you! All of my children betrayed me. They look more like their dad. The thing I wish is that young people would listen to the voice of experience more. I thought, if we forewarned our kids then they would avoid making mistakes, but the thing is it must be engrained in some young people to discard all teachings and learn lessons the hard way. I'd like to say it was worth it, but in fact I've seen the same mistakes repeated. That's so heart breaking, too. Nice picture of you and your daughter!
ReplyDeleteThat last line... just so.
ReplyDeleteShe is definitely your mini me.
Great photo. People tell me my daughter looks like me but I don't see it. You and your girl, though? The DNA is unmistakeable.
ReplyDeleteThat is a sweet photo and she is a mini you. I'm still that person in my head too but definitely not in the mirror! I watch "The Longest Ride" with Clint Eastwood's son Scott and he is a mini of Clint. Great movie by the way!
