Zee End

An unoriginal title, but it's the end of the alphabet and that's the best I can do. We've reached the finish line in this year's A to Z Challenge, which feels great. It was a little tougher to complete this year as I'm not cut out for writing after 11 PM on a regular basis. Still I enjoyed the discipline and the daily letter prompt.

"It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird:  It would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad."
 ~C. S. Lewis

It's exhausting and scary and a little bit exciting to think about all the changes that have occurred in our lives these past few months. One of the things I love most about blogging is the way it allows me to record something in present day, and then later examine it with the clarity of hindsight. It's there I most often see the benefits of change, and where my heart fills with gratitude for all I've learned as a result.

"Change may come to you in trinkets and I hope it adorns your life gracefully."~Dodinsky

  1. Looking at things with hindsight is good. There is usually so much to be learned about ourselves and others. I've been doing some of that this morning and it's clarifying some issues that needed attention. Congrats on "Zee End." Have a great weekend, and thanks for taking the time to blog your thoughts. They help me.

  2. You made it...challenge complete. I haven't looked back through my blogs from the past year, as this is my first year online. I'll have to do that!

  6. I have always loved that Lewis quotation! Just remember during this especially busy season of your life - there is a light at the end of the tunnel (and it is NOT a train). :-)

  7. I'm very proud of you, Joyce! You did it!! I may have to give this challenge a try next year. If you can do it so well with all you have going on, I should certainly be able to come up with something. You are my superwoman hero right now!!

  8. I know exactly what you mean about all of the changes taking place. I, too, have blogged about them so I can go back and reflect later.
Congrats on making it through the challenge :)

  9. That is one great quote! For some reason I feel like my world is spinning with change and I'm not sure how to deal with it. I do know that writing things down does help. Way to go on accomplishing your A-Z!

  10. Hi,
    I love the quote!
Great job with your A-Z! I still think the Late Night Rambling was one of my favorites. ;-)
