All About Self

Continuing with the February Photo Challenge-today's prompt is 'self-portrait'.

Does anyone over the age of 25 really enjoy taking self portraits? First of all, it requires a coordination I'm not sure I possess. Secondly, they're usually super close up. No thank you. When I'm in a photograph I like to adjust 'things'...the angles, my chin, my hair...that's hard to do when you're taking a picture of yourself. Hubs took a picture of me in Central Park that was a close up of my face. Goodness, are those lines around my eyes always there?

I'm no quitter though, and I'm determined to see this challenge through to the last day of the month. Enjoy your weekend everyone...

  4. Mirrors are wonderful things! I usually take my "self" portraits in my bedroom so I can pose myself. Yes, I have far too many wrinkles now then I'd like to share.

  5. Love it! I haven't even done my photo yet because I don't like my photos of myself. Clever.

  11. Good one Joyce! I almost drew a stick figure picture of myself to use. After all with my artistic abilities that would be about the best I could do on a self portrait.

    Have a great weekend!

  13. Very cute take on the challenge!

I'm weird, I'm 20 years past 25 and I still take goofy self portraits, or use the timer on my camera so there are up-to-date photos of me too in my scrapbooks. I am a big time advocate for scrapping yourself at the digital scrapbook sites I frequent.

The one thing I hate doing is photographing my shadow! My smile will draw attention away from the shape! I don't wanna look at the shape alone! :) We all have personal insecurities, huh?

  20. Yes, that would be my best angle, too, Joyce! :-) I've tried to take a self-portrait, but have yet to get a good one. Maybe I'm endeavoring the impossible? :-)
